Presales Questions
  • How long is the Server Setup?
    • In most cases, servers can take between 30 minutes to 2 hours for setup. Although, setup could be up to 12 hours.
  • Do you Pre-Install modifications for my Server?
    • For most of our games we will pre-install modifications for you. If you want a custom modification, please leave a link.
    • Please Note: Ownage Game Servers cannot guarantee any mod will work or function properly. We will attempt to help you, but cannot guarantee any modifications.
  • What locations are Available?
    • Chicago, IL

  • What Operating System does Ownage Game Servers run?
    • All of our dedicated boxes run on Linux (Fedcore or CentOS)
  • The Test Servers don't work, what is wrong?
  • Will you sponsor my Clan?
    • Ownage Game Servers does not sponsor clans. To sponsor clans, we would have to raise our prices making it more expensive for our paying customers.
  • This is my first game server? Can you help me learn to use my server?
    • Ownage Game Servers will try to help you to use your server the best we can. All server come with a pre-setup config file, first person support, and know what its like to be a gamer!

  • Does Ownage Game Servers have 24/7 Support?
    • Ownage Servers does not have 24/7 support. Support is on everyday, but support tickets could take up to 8 hours. Most of the time, our support is available to speak live during peak hours (7:00pm - 12:00am EST).

  • What payment types does Ownage Game Servers Accept?
    • Paypal - (Also Accepts all Major Credit Cards)
    • eChecks - (Servers are not setup until the eCheck has cleared)
    • Snail Mail (Money Orders or Cashier's Checks Accepted)
  • Can I Rent more then One Month?
    • Yes, we have 3 month and 6 month options.
    • 3 Months - 5% off Total
    • 6 Months - 10% off Total
  • How do I cancel my server? Do I have to pay anything?

      • Servers will be Suspended if payment is not received and canceled within 3 days.
    • Canceling your server costs you nothing.
    • If tell us to Terminate your service early, this process is irreversible. No Exceptions.
  • If I rent more then one server, do I get a discount?
    • Yes! When renting multiple servers, Ownage Servers offers a Discount!
      • 5% off - 4th Server's Bill
      • 10% off - 5th Server's Bill

  • I forgot to pay my bill, did you delete my server?
    • Services will be suspended upon the renewal date if payment is not received.
    • If payment is not received within 3 days, the server will be canceled. (your IP will then be available for others to use)
  • I want to upgrade or downgrade my server, how do I?
    • If you want to upgrade or downgrade please contact us and we will create a new invoice for you. There is no downgrade fee.
  • Who do I contact about billing?
Customer Questions
  • My Ventrilo and Website information did not come with my Server Information?
    • At this time, the Game Server information and the Ventrilo / Website emails are sent seperately. Sometimes it takes us longer to setup the ventrilo and website then the Server.
  • Why is my server down? What is wrong with it?
    • Sometimes the servers will have errors and will not restart, but First try logging into gamepanel and restarting the server.
    • If you can not get your server to restart, please submit a support ticket.
  • Why can I not connect to my FTP?
    • When logging into the FTP make sure that you put it in Case Sensitive. Since our Servers are Linux, the Case does matter.

  • I accidentally deleted my server, can you reinstall it?
    • On this type of situation, we will reinstall your server, but this will not be done during peak hours. We do not guarantee a reinstall of your server for up to 12 hours!
    • There is no charge for the reinstall.
  • How come my ping is high today? What is wrong with the server?
    • Many times, customers will have high ping and come ask us what is wrong with the server. Ownage Game Servers in no way control the internet, and cannot guarantee low latency all the time. High ping could be caused by your ISP, routes on the way to the Data Center, or within the Data Center.
    • (Example: Normally ping 50, but are pinging 80 for a day.)
    • We will make sure its not the server for you, but most of the time, we cannot do much about the situation.
  • My server crashed, can you restart it for me?
    • If your servercrashed, please log into the gamepanel and try to restart the server. Our staff does not have time to log into everyone's server to restart them.
    • If your server does not restart, please let us know, and we will look at it for you.
  • I submitted a support ticket, why has not it been answered?
    • Depending on the support ticket that you submitted depends on the amount of time it will take. Many times, certain staff are assigned to jobs and can't answer some of the support tickets.
